The PluriMetric Pilot (PPM), a major component of the PRIME Platforms (Platforms for Remediation and Innovation in service of Environmental Metrology) which the BRGM has created in the framework of the PIVOTS ARD 2020 program funded by Region Centre – Val de Loire, has just been delivered to the BRGM site. On Friday, July 5, after a long journey from Béarn (southwest of France), this experimental tank of 150 m³ (10.4 x 3.6 x 4.0 m), unique in France, was finally set up in the BRGM experimental hall. This PPM will allow realizing experiments on water and contaminants transfer in the unsaturated zone – saturated zone continuum. The finalization of the installation and associated equipment is planned for September. This tool will be operational in October and available to develop, qualify and validate tools in environmental metrology (sensors, samplers, …) and methods and treatment processes (physical, chemical and biological).
