The European Water Test Network, of which BRGM (Orléans) is a partner, is launching the 3rd innovation challenge open to innovative SMEs in the water sector until September 1st, 2020.
This call for projects seeks to promote innovation to improve the elimination of perfluorinated compounds (poly- and perfluoroalkylated substances – PFAS) in groundwater for the production of drinking water, municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater.
The European Water Test Network is looking for SMEs that develop innovative technologies and need to test them in a real environment : drinking water production center, municipal treatment plant or industrial site (eg, waste treatment or chemical industry ). Innovation must be profitable and efficient. Technologies must be able to meet (upcoming) standards:
Drinking water : sumPFAS probable = 0,1 μg/L ; PFAS total = 0,5 μg/L
Inland surface water: AA-EQS = 6,5 10-4μg/L and MAC-EQS = 36 μg/L for PFOS
The winning SME will earn a voucher up to € 50,000 to use the network services (permanently available until August 2021) as well as personalized support for development (expertise and tests) and the enhancement of its technology internationally (creation of a specific webinar and promotion at international water fairs or exhibitions).
TERMS OF ACCESS
- Being an SME in the North-West Europe zone and respecting the de minimis rules
- Innovation project with a technological maturity (TRL) between 4 and 8
- The SME agrees to pay its own travel and transportation costs for the equipment to the test center.
